Beaver
Taking a little nappie on the drive to Beaver.
His new friend Marketta giving him a spin on the ATV.
Here's a cute picture of Matthew in Beaver with our neighbors HEALTHY kids ....as you can see, he's not interested in eating one bit. The other kids were attacking their Mickey Mouse waffles... Sitting him at the table w/ other kids while they eat is a good thing though...
Someday he'll catch on and see how good food is!
I've got some great pics of him at the Beaver "kiddie" pool. Tanji had the great idea of taking the kids swimming ~ Taylor was a real champ and hung out with Matthew in the pool. Now that it's June and past the RSV season, we can relax a little bit about him getting anything that would affect his respiratory system. It's so nice to actually get out of the house!!!
We've been a little behind on updating blog b/c we've been going to Beaver 3 days out of the week to work on the cabin. If you want to see some recent cabin pics, click here. Mike is really working his tail off between the cabin and his new position as Sergeant.

Pictures while in Beaver
*giggling* Isn't this the funniest picture! If you look close, you can see a bit of a "shiner" over his left eye... he took a little tumble down the stairs. (yes, it scared me to death, but he was just fine) He also biffed and fell on his bottom lip in the mudroom. He was officially broken into boyhood this past week.
Matthew's little Beaver girlfriend, Ashland ... she is so cute! They each wanted that chair.
Here is Vanna Banana reading to Matthew. He was quite spoiled with all the girlies reading to him.
Mom got him this cutest snowsuit, mittens and boots ~ it kept him quite warm.
Watching his daddy and Uncle Timmy being "spidermen" on the scaffolding.
Taylor and Shania spoiling Matthew w/ book reading time.
Trying some of Aunt Tanji's mac and cheese.
Just chillin. He's been having cold and cough symptoms since the day we got home. So far, he's not feverish, but he is coughing his head off and very snotty ~ QUITE GRUMPY and not sleeping well.
I am hoping to avoid taking him to the doctor.... I am keeping an ear on those junky lungs.
Oh well, maybe it's good that his body is having to fight off this kind of thing.... but it sure isn't fun.

Snow Suit
A few weeks ago when we were in Beaver, UT Terri snapped these photos of Matthew in his snowsuit. Doesn't he remind you of the little boy from "A Christmas Story"?

The Lawn Chair
This weekend we went camping in Beaver, UT. Grandma Wright got this little elephant chair for Matthew. Here he is lounging while watching his favorite show, Baby Einstein. I know you can't really call this camping so maybe I should just say we were relaxing in Beaver.

Hey Mr. Tambourine Man!
Ok...I know these are cymbals and the caption should read, "Hey, Mr. cymbaleer". But you get the reference, right? When Grandma & Grandpa Wright aren't with us in Beaver we struggle for things to entertain Matthew with. Here I took the lids off of two pots and let him clang, crash, and bang to his unifocalized heart's content! As you can see by the last picture, it was a huge success.
Our Beaver Weekend
Last weekend we went to Beaver to dig a ten foot hole for our "perk test". A perk test measures the rate at which the ground will absorb septic waste. Matthew watched as our old backhoe bested the rocky ground. Then we went to our neighbors Tim & Tanji Baxter's cabin for a good ole' down-home country hoedown. They are a cute, young couple with two adorable kids. It was such a nice escape from the big city.

Matthew & the Mirror
Matthew was quite fascinated with the little boy in this mirror. This is our little travel trailer that we keep in Beaver, UT.

The Backhoe Driver
Up in Beaver we have this old backhoe to assist with the heavy lifting. Matthew was enthralled with it when I set him on my lap. This thing could make some serious mud pies!

The Greatest Helper
Our nephew Daniel came with us to Beaver this past weekend. He was wonderful!
He not only helped plant over 60 trees, but he helped out with Matthew. We would love to have Daniel with us for every trip!
After a long day
The boys were quite tired after working so hard planting all those trees!!
We sat by the wood burning stove in the barn for a nice relaxing evening.
You'll notice an adorable white lab sleeping under our camper. This is Amy, our neighbors dog in Beaver. She always spends the weekend with us... and plays with Quixa. She's a stowaway dog... she sneaks under the camper and sleeps on the white roll of insulation thinking we don't know she's there... actually, one night... we didn't know until the next morning. We all love her.
The Drive Home
These pictures speak a thousand words.
The only one who doesn't get to sleep is poor Mike. Amy uses the seat belt as a "hammock" ~ she gets quite comfy. The only thing we don't enjoy about our drive to and from Beaver is the gas Quixa passes.

Not so good weekend for Matthew :-(
This was a tough weekend for Matthew ... (and me) I hate to say.

Starting on Friday while driving to Beaver, he started gagging and retching all over again.
It was like this all weekend long ~ he simply acts like he feels miserable. We checked his SAT's and he did not/does not have a fever. Funny thing, we were just at the G.I. doc on Thursday!! ... so, go figure. He's retching just like he had in the past.... it's like he's not taking this new drug at all. Very very frustrating and disappointing. He's quite whiney and cries a lot.
I am waiting for 9 o'clock to get here so I can put a call in to Dr. Baron.
Matthew has not poo'd for a couple days We have read thru a couple of the papers that they give you w/ your prescription... all of the drugs he is taking can cause all kinds of unpleasant side effects. We're not sure if it's the new antibiotic he's on.....I sure wish he could talk.
I'm sure Mike will update the blog w/ some cute pics we took. He and Daniel planted 60 trees on the property.

Trip to Beaver
This weekend we went up to Beaver, UT with Grandma & Grandpa Wright. It was still quite cold up there so Matthew spent the whole weekend in the motorhome. As you can see by the photos, he still climbed every mountain and interacted with the wildlife!

Quick update until Mike gets some pics up
We've been up in Beaver, Utah w/ my parents for the past three days.
We have some adorable pictures of Matthew in the motorhome and will get those up as soon as possible.
Matthew is doing just fine ... but still has that weird "lung issue." It's been 8 days and there is no change.
He coughs a lot, sounds rattly and has a runny & stuffy nose ~ but he doesn't have a fever and doesn't act sick. His saturation levels are still great, around 96, 97. I'd be worried if his SAT's were low.
Today will be his first day off the steroids so we'll see how that goes. I think I'll keep him on the Musinex though. I put a call into the pulmonologist yesterday.
