Swimming with Uncle Keith

Uncle Keith & Auntie Gabrielle couldn't wait to get Matthew in the pool with the snazzy life vest they got him for his birthday! This was his first time in a pool. He was pretty good, he wasn't too excited, but he didn't freak out either. The whole experience lasted about 8 minutes.

I saw that you posted on my blog (work in progress). Yes, the CHD world is small. It seems that with the help of computers it is easy to come across stories. My blog isn't much...I love Matthew's. You need to tell me how to do this. My son, Harrison, has a website at www.caringbridge.org. It was started when he was born and I use it to chart his milestones. The visitor login is harrisondeanhartgraves. You are more than welcome to visit it. We will add Matthew to our prayer list.

Our family had a wonderful, funfulled Independence Day at Uncle Keith and Auntie Gabrielle's home. Their other guests included their co-workers who seemed like old friends after a few "minutes" of conversation.

Their little ones were great too! They headed straight for the pool and you can see that Keith was one of the first ones to dive in. Ha Ha. It was only 115 degrees.

Matthew lights up like a Christmas tree when he sees his football buddy, Uncle Keith. This is evidenced by the "total trust" he put in his uncle by going into the pool for the first time with him. Matthew was apprenshive; but not terrified. Being in water is a different sensation altogether. I was really proud of Matthew.

Matthew's main interest was just running around the house in only his swimming socks and swim pants. He was "liberated". He climbed the stairs a hundred times and "running" was the operative mode in those comfy shoes.

I love the picture of him showing off his safety jacket. Those little baney rooster legs just cracked me up. No more thigh folds for this dude. Matthw is definitely a "big boy" now.

Life is good! grandma wright

It was on the news that it was only 120 degrees....

120 degrees!? Wowee! I am surprised everyone was sitting by the pool and not IN the pool.

Matthew is darling as usual. I need to take a Mommy and Me swim class so Liam isn't so nervous about the pool.

I too LOVE the picture of Matthew showing off his swimming gear. We went to my bestfriends pool for the 4th and as soon as I put Evan's swimmies on he ran and jumped in, went under and came up laughing - we are going to have to watch that one!

Another first and the pictures are wonderful. I, too, got used to those little chubby legs with the rolls, but now he is just getting taller and the legs are getting longer. Even the life vest is something new for him. He is so good about having his picture taken. I love the bond between him and Uncle Keith. There is total trust there. I hope to see many more swimming pictures.

I happy you all had a wonderful 4th.

Love, Grandma Sue
