A Day at the Park

This is Boone Acres Park. It is located across the street from the house where I grew up in San Ramon, CA. It was a thrill to go back there and play with my own son. I'm sure it brought back memories for Grandma Sue as well.

What a beautiful park! I think this must have been the first time Matthew ever experienced the feeling of being in a swing. I was hoping to see Michael in the swing next to Matthew. Ha Ha. A few physical changes have taken place since "those good ole days" huh, dad?

Matthew loves to go to the park, only the weather was probably much nicer in California than here in Las Vegas. The Park District here has started to shade the playgound area which has helped so much!

Isn't is wonderful seeing Matthew enjoy a normal life free of tubes and cheek patches with "no no's" abundant. He may not remember those days; but we surely do. God Bess you, Matthew! grandma wright

Did Matthew like the swings? Hope you all are doing well.

Looks like the Little Soldier is happier being "out of the swing" rather than "in it".

Aren't kids funny? Can't ever depend on their reaction to things!

He is really growing up...

It was so wonderful having Michael, Terri & Matthew here for a visit. We all loved every minute of it. Matthew didn't like the swing too much, but he had fun doing other things. He is the sweetest little boy and had smiles for everyone. My brother and sister and their families had not seen them in a year, so were just amazed at how much he has grown. He just made himself at home in my sister's house and yard. It was up and down the stairs and playing in the pond in the back and just making everyone laugh. My sister said "wouldn't Mom (Grandma Dunphy) just love his impish little smile." The weather was wonderful and I truly think the nice breeze felt good to Matthew.

It definitely brought back memories of Michael's growing up. I just can't believe how quickly the time has passed. I can't wait to see them again.

Love, Grandma Sue

Great pics! It is so much fun to go back to some of the old places you used to play. When we were in Montana Paul took us all to his favorite park. They had a lot of the original play equipment and he sure got a kick out of watching all the kids play on his favorite slide and merry-go-round, etc. I was fun to watch him share his childhood with his children. :)
