One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

I think these snapshots prove that Matthew "is the model child".
His expressions are so nature and "so Matthew". I love the one in his red top and navy pants & yellow strip by the gate. You could not have positioned that natural and relaxed for that pose.
I have always said that Matthew was the best dressed child I have ever seen. I have only seen him in just a diaper "twice" on this blog. Matthew how do you do it?????
Love you my model grandchild! grandma wright
You guys are so cute! I can't believe what a sweet man you have. :)

My daughter Sadie (19 months) is fascinated with this slide-show of Mathew. She can't stop talking about it. Thanks for the comments on my site. I hadn't come to your son's site yet. I just went back to the beginning and started with the first month. It'll take me a while to catch up, but Wow. I polished off what was left of the box of Puffs Plus from the kitchen. I am so glad to see all the recent pictures. It makes it easier to read the early posts. I can't imagine what it must have been like.
Sadie is still fascinated. Matthew must have lots of little girlfriends admiring him these days!
Total model child for sure!
I love the Thomas Train one... he is so perfect!
Thanks for the nice comments you left on my blog. Thats sweet you wish you could live in VA. It is a beautiful state but oddly enough we hope to move out West in a year or two. Glen Allen is just North or Richmond, pretty close to us. Come visit!
I went back and read some of the old post on your blog. I cried all through it. I am so sorry your family had to go through this. It made me appreciate all I have. I actually used to stress when my youngest had colic. It seems like nothing now. It warms my heart to see all these pictures of Matthew. He is an adorable little boy. He looks so healthy and happy.
What a joy! What a joy!
Matthew isn't a baby anymore. All of a sudden he's turned into "a boy"!!!
Pure Cuteness is so true. He is definitely the best dressed little boy in town. How generous everyone was with their gifts for our little 2 year old. I think you need to call Parents Magazine and get him signed up. Michael's cousin Sherrie King has 3 beautiful children and all of them have appeared in magazines. I'm sure you could have his college education paid for in no time, as cute as he is.
Thanks for sharing all the darling pictures.
Love, Grandma Sue
