One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Over the meadows and through the woods to grandmother's RV, we go. Look at that beautiful, peaceful little face of an angel, hugging his "favorite" doggy that barks softly in his ear. Matthew squeals with delight at the sight, sound and touch of this soft friend.
Matthew handles that trip from Las Vegas to Beaver like a champ. There is always "dreamland" when the scenery gets boring.
As long as mommy and daddy are there, "life is good" for this little man.
I love Matthew, waking or sleeping. He is a treasure that resides deeply in my heart. He just gets more beautiful every day, don't you think??? Love grandma wright a.k.a. uma
Oh my gosh, what an adorable picture. He is so gentle with little animals, real or toy,and seems to have a special bond with them. He is resting so peacefully and hugging his puppy so close. I love this picture.
I love you Matthew and will see you soon. Grandma Sue
