One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Michael is never far away, with always a watchful eye. The same is true for Matthew. Matthew loves to know his daddy is near. It is heartwarming to watch the King Trio together. There is a synergy that is created among them. Love you guy! grandma w
What a great picture. You and Matthew have been through quite a bit and he knows he will always have his Daddy to watch over him. I have never seen you so happy my son and you couldn't have asked for a more wonderful wife or adorable son. Your happiness brings joy to my heart.
I love all of you so much.
