One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Matthew has begun to open his books and attempts to read to us. He jabbers away and points to the objects like mommy does. Thanks to mommy and daddy, Matthew "loves" books. He seems particularly fond of the color blue.
He has also begun to raise his little arm and point to things. While watching Baby Einstein McDonald, Matthew jabbered away and pointed to a rabbit that popped up out of a watering can. He has become quite a little mimic. I would love to know what is going on inside this little head when he gets this "studying" look on his face. God Bless this beautiful little boy and love him as much as I do! grandma w
