Quick update

Matthew is doing great ... now.... He was pretty sick a couple weeks ago up in Beaver. He was put back on Oxygen 24/7... but that only lasted a couple days... then he was on 02 only at night... now he's off...they think he was just starting to get pneumonia again in that left lung. He was given 2 Rocephine shots and that seemed to take care of it. His SATS were only 84 -85 for a couple days... yikes.

Needless to say, we are taking him in tomorrow for the H1N1 vaccine tomorrow.
We are also back to being "bubble boy" for the winters. Won't be taking him out into the public at all.... or other kids. Swine seems to be everywhere...even in Beaver school.

Hoping for a better winter than we had this summer!! I don't know!!

Matthew had pneumonia again *sigh*

He started getting strange fevers again... only a couple days after ending his 10 days of antibiotics.

We were on our way to Beaver, but when we got by the speedway~ I had Mike bring me home.

Good thing, turned out he had pneumonia in that same lung and tonsillitis. He got another Rocephine shot and is now on another 10 day supply of antibiotics.

He is much much better. Sorry I neglected the blog, I have been posting on Facebook lately!

Plumb tuckered out~had been a long day for Magoo

Spent 3 hours in the ER last night ~ fun fun

Took Matthew to a few places to get his blood drawn last night ..... ended up going clear across town to the "best stickers" at Quest. The first place I went could not get blood.

His blood tests were labeled "STAT" so we got right in and right out! By the time I got home at 8:30 pm, got a call from Dr. Tenby stating that I needed to take him to ER for antibiotic shot ... he thinks Matty may have a bacterial infection .... but, we will know more about what it is after the blood cultures in a day or two..
so...

An X ray was taken of his little lungs and it showed he has a bit of pneumonia. We are shocked. We didn't see any signs of that.

Needless to say, it was a long evening ~ got home at 12:30 am.

More later... off to see Dr. Tenby.

Steel Magnolia: LoL

Hey Matthew fans... I have a Blackberry that I can post pics to blog from. But, I can't do my blog and Matthews blog at the same time. The little card w/ my pics are a pain to take out of my BB.

I have a million pics to post, but I am having a hard time making them come to THIS blog.

I am working on it.... so for now, click on the link above.

Matthew is doing much better now.
He still needs oxygen at night up in Beaver... but hopefully for not much longer. He is finally back to eating a bit more and talking more.

I will post some pictures soon. I got a new pink Blackberry and I've been trying to post from IT.
I can't quite figure it out, all the pictures go to MY blog and the texts go to Matthews blog. ??

Matthew did go to swimming lessons up in Beaver and it was so fun for him. He didn't dunk his head since he was just getting over an ear infection. I will sign him up for some private lessons soon.
He sure loves the water.

He also loves our friends horse! He was just squealing and giggling over "Cooper"... it was cute.

A couple pics from the past couple days

Waiting to be released on Tuesday.
Just waiting to go home. This is Cody, a therapy dog.

Home sweet home in mom and dad's bed.

On our way home from hospital.

Matthew is still not feeling so good, definitely needs the oxygen. Getting lots of meds and breathing treatments. We go see Dr. Tenby and Dr. Nakamura tomorrow.

When I have more time, I will post some awesome birthday pictures of Matthew's birthday party up in Beaver. We had a Blue's Clue's cake and Mike had an awesome "hunting" cake.

Just got home from hospital ... all hooked up to oxygen tank and his oxygen SAT monitor ... off to the pharmacy to fill his many new prescriptions. Whew... there's no place like home. This is like de ja vu for us. Should be getting oxygen concentrator soon, w/ humidified air so his little nose stays moist.

Not a good night last night for Matt and Mike

Mike just text'd me, he'd be surprised if Matt got to go home today, had a hard time keeping SAT's up even on 3 liters. Matt didn't sleep well and neither did Mike.

They repositioned Matthew, sucked out his nose, changed sensor and gave him extra treatments and CPT... still didn't help.

That worries me.

Here it is... the shot we all dread in the hospital gown

Ah yes, we all know and dread this hospital gown and the walk around the halls. Matthew had the advantage of a diaper, however :)
He took a few more strolls around the halls today. His oxygen levels drop when he sleeps and he was back up to 2.5 liters when I left tonight. He is scheduled to be released tomorrow morning, but on oxygen support at home.
Daddy is on his way back to the hospital to do another sleep over with Matthew. Luckily, there is always at least one parent with him at any given time. Terri will head home and get some much needed rest.

Face of an Angel, Heart of a Soldier

Doesn't he look like a little angel? He really is such a soldier. They tried to take him off his oxygen, but his oxygen saturation levels dropped again. So, he's back on a small amount. They say he'll be able to come home when he goes an entire night without any oxygen support.

More strolls around the halls

Unlike this picture, he really does enjoy his little walks. The only time I thought we might have a problem is when he saw the wagon... he loves to ride in the wagon he has at home. Mike did a good job diverting his attention whenever we came close to the little red wagon.
