One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Matthew can stay busy by the hour. I never have to entertain him when I babysit. He is contantly doing something of interest. As you can see he only has two arms like normal people; but when you take him into a lamp store, he seems to have six. Ha Ha
That is such a great picture! I can tell Matthew has such a great imagination and has that great "the more the merrier" spirit. So cute!
Matthew is just busy doing his own thing and the cat is there watching him. He always did have a special relationship with animals. I'll always remember the cute picture with Matthew holding Moose's face and touching noses.
It's just so good to see him healthy and happy and always occupied with fun things to do.
Love to all. Grandma Sue
