One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Matthew is facinated with everything in his presence. Actually if you think about it, he is quite the little traveler. He has been to California several times by car and back and forth to Utah on a number of occasions. I would imagine just being able to see his mommy and daddy is most satisfying. Mommy can now take her true position as the "back seat" driver. Chuckle, chuckle!! Life is good! Love you sweet baby, grandma w
It is so good to see him looking out the windows and seeing his Mommy & Daddy up front. All is safe and good in Matthew's world - just the way it should be. It would be so wonderful to know what he is thinking. He is just adorable.
Love, Grandma Sue
I loved the foot in the mouth photo. :) Good luck with RSV season, Jacob had the shots all last season and after the first few months he knew exactly what was coming. As soon as the nurse straightened out his legs he would start screaming, poor tyke. It's definitely worth it though. We have yet to find out if we need them this time around or not (hoping not). He's seems to get bigger with every photo you post. :)
