One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Matthew is trying to understand "the look" Mandi is giving him. Joel looks like he is about to "jump ship" in the event some eyebrows don't start going up. Mandi was just teasing our little hero. How could anybody get made at Matthew? He didn't cry the entire day. He just made his own fun practicing his walking and crawling skills. Every time he walked in the entry way, he would go to the door and mess with the lock on the door. Next year, he will be big enough to open it. whoops, more to watch for next year. I think I will wear my tennis shoes. Ha Ha Love you three, grandma w
