One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Daddy has indeed presented us with a special treat today. Each picture frame tells a story in itself. Matthew is walking around like a pro. He still drops down to a racer's crawl when he feels the need to get there "faster". He just hasn't discovered the "run" yet. He loves every room in the house, especially his. It is bright and cheerful with lots of toys lined up waiting to be played with upon command. If fact he looks like he is headed toward his toys right now. No time to waste for this busy little boy. Love you my sweet little baby! grandma w
