One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Well he outgrew the sink and now looks like he's not too sure if he really likes the big tub. Maybe it's the wet hair he doesn't like. One of these days he'll be swimming and playing in the bathtub. He is such a cutie.
Love, Grandma Sue
Yes, the jury is still out on the "big tub" but once he gets used to it, he will enjoy the challenge of emptying it as rapidly as he can. At least he doesn't have to worry about anything "personal" going down the garbage disposal. All body parts are safe and sound...like the family jewels.....
Matthew's chest scar is barely noticeable or the other scars of the past. He is my little hero and always will be. Love you my sweet little boy! grandma w
