One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Those little feet stayed on the move all day. We all laughed as he entered each room with delight. He loves to walk and show everyone what a "big boy" he is. I guess you would say, Matthew was fleet of foot. Someday, he is going to get a big kick out of these pictures. It is just another example that he makes the "most" out of each situation. No matter what he does, he has a great time. Matthew is the best natured little boy I have ever seen at 19 months of age. He is so accepting of his life. God certainly "super charged" this little dynamo with personality. Thank you, God, for this blessing. We appreciate him to the fullest. grandma w
