One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Matthew has a special fondness for "round" objects. He know the round hole in the top of the container with 4 different shapes. He seeks out the rounds objects first. This is not true with the other shapes. I often have to pry out square, triangle and star shaped objects from some of his toys that accept balls only. If it has an opening, something is going to be put into it. Take the woofter to the stereo....... You get the right idea. Ha Ha. He loves to shove his little books under the TV cabinet. I'll bet he will never be able to find his keys when he gets older. As long as he keeps his grandma in his heart, I will never complain. Love you sweet "goo-man". grandma w
