One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

He sure is a little miracle!!!
Yahoo for the ability to repair these little ones. I definately know how you feel. We are so grateful for all the people who cared for our son. I am sure our Dr. has sacrificed a lot to do what he does each day.
Hadn't you wee man come a long way! AND LOOK AT HIM NOW.. a real little Dude.
Hi. Reading your story about Matthew has given me hope. My daughter was born with pulmonary atresia, Tetralogy of Fallot, a severe heart murmor, 2 holes in heart, distorted aorta, stenosis of the aortic value, superstenosis of the aortic value, pulmonary collaterals that are extremely small, Alagellies (liver disease) and many more. She just turned 7 months and is only 9 1/2 pounds. She will be undergoing her first surgery in the next couple of weeks. It is hard to find people that understand what you are going through....I try to read stories that give me hope and yours does....Thank you. I wish you all the luck in the world with Matthew. Regards, Stacy (schnookie1995@yahoo.com). God Bless.
