One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Oh, what a happy picture. His smile lights up the room. It makes my day to see that darling face. The whole office can hear my oohs and aaws. God Bless Matthew.
I love you. Grandma Sue
What a bright smile! That will light up any room. :) I enjoy all the pictures you post.
Matthew does enjoy being read to and actually listens to the page that he "wants you to read".Hummmm, not necessarily in order. While babysitting yesterday, he crawled over to the big entertainment center you see in the picture while pushing one of his favorite books. He attempted to push it into that tiny space between the unit and the floor. When he saw he could only go so far with his little finger, he used his "feet" to kick it under......... This presented quite a challenge for his grandma and enjoyed watching me attempting to retrieve it. Yes, Matthew's humor is delightful and so is his laugh. Love you sweet baby! grandma w
