One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Matthew absolutely, without a doubt, is going to be an outdoors man. Mommy and I walked for over an hour and Goo Man never closed his eyes. He didn't want to miss a thing. I thought for sure he would fall asleep; but not this little fella.
He jabbered away at his dad as he watched his daddy cover his backhoe. I think dad got the cover on right because Matthew was smiling after it was over. What a happy little boy. Matthew is a joy to be around. Love you sweet baby! grandma w
He definitely looks happy, and who wouldn't be when you are in God's Country. That is such a great get-a-away for all of you. I love all the pictures.
Love, Grandma Sue
