One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Matthew has this little Mischievous smile on his face. He is quite accustomed to the camera; but has no idea how it is benchmarking his physical and personality growth in time.
He is getting to be such a big boy. Actually, Magoo is 17 months old today. Hurray! for Matthew. I cannot image life before you came. I must have had a place already in my heart just waiting for you to fill because "you" fit so "perfectly" in my life.
Love you sweet baby, grandma w
I love this outfit. What a difference 8 months makes is truly amazing. He just looks so happy and is having such a good life. I can't think of anything that makes me happier. I love you Matthew.
