First thing this morning I got Matthew dressed in his Christmas outfit.

Shortly Before opening gifts we snapped this picture. Terri says Matthew will overtake my enthusiasm in 1-2 years.

These four darling pictures were taken this morning after the busy morning-meds/feeding time had passed.

Here is a photo showing two of several teeth coming in. No wonder Matthew gets cranky at times.

A month ago Matthew would cry inconsolably when placed on his stomach. Mommy has remained vigilant and now Matthew stays calm and works on his little chest muscles each morning. Three cheers for Mommy!

Mommy and I gave Matthew a bath this morning. Prior to his bath he weighed in at a wopping 12lbs. 6 ounces! Mommy takes the time to put the teddy bear towel in the oven to warm it before he comes out of the baby bath tub.

The King Trio paid a pre-Christmas visit to Dr. Nakamura, Matthew's Pulmonologist (lung doctor) today. Prior to his exam, Matthew is entertained by his Mommy.

It warms my heart to see what a happy boy Matthew continues to be even with all he has been through.

Matthew is developing his eye-hand coordination and beginning to grab for things in front of him.

Dr. Nakamura was very impressed with Matthew's progress. He said Matthew's lungs sounded better than ever. He told us we could lower the breathing treatments to three times a day unless Matthew showed signs of congestion. He wants us to remain status quo with the oxygen settings and diuretics until after Matthew's next heart surgery in the early part of next year. He also said that the local surgeon who would perform the surgery if we stay in town is excellent. Dr. Nakamura said he would choose this doctor to operate on his kids which, in the medical world, is a high compliment.

Here is an adorable photo Terri took prior to Matthew's Bedtime. We keep Matthew's Bassinet next to my side of the bed so we can check on him throughout the night and tend to his feeding machine.

Matthew visited Dr. Dezenberg, his GI doctor, this morning. Dr. Dezenberg was very pleased with Matthew's progress in weight gain and growth. He increased Matthew's overnight feeds from 36ml/hr to 42ml/hr. Also, he told us that we are safe to pour 5 hours of milk in his feed bag at a time which means we only have to get up once a night now to refill his feeding machine. It is funny how small things like one less wake up call at night are priceless to a tired parent. We were so excited that you would have thought Dr. Dezenberg said "Mike & Terri King, come on down! You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!"

At his doctor visit this morning, Matthew weighed in at 12lbs. 2 ounces and measured over 24 inches in length.

I just love this picture of Mommy and Matthew.

I told Matthew that his girlfriend, Wendy, was coming to visit him today at Uncle Keith's house. Wendy is from Michigan and is quite the sports aficionado. Matthew got so excited that he put on his Michigan State outfit and wrote this sign with a Sharpie. I had to ask him what it meant. He rolled his eyes and said it was a reference to the Detroit Lions General Manager. Special thanks to Tammy Jackson for the cute outfit.

This is Wendy who is one of Matthew's favorite nurses from Sunrise Hospital. She was quite impressed with Matthew's growth and his inside knowledge of Michigan sports.

Wendy, knowing that we don't smoke, supplied the gang with after dinner pretzels.

When we got home tonight I strapped Matthew to my chest and we unloaded his stroller together.

Matthew on his way to another doctor visit. We went to see his Urologist, Dr. Feng, today. Matthew has Kidney Reflux which means urine can back up into his right kidney from his bladder. The severity is minor but still has to be treated with antibiotics to prevent infection. According to Dr. Feng this condition may very well resolve itself with time and growth.

While giving Matthew a bath, we removed the old tape on his face. Here is a great look at his face without any obstructions.

Matthew's new G-Tube makes it less bothersome to be on his tummy. Here Terri turned him on his tummy for a short time without any protest from Matthew. "Tummy-Time" is important developmentally because it builds upper body strength as he pushes up with his arms.

Terri has been vigilant in working to strengthen Matthew and bring him up to date developmentally. He is beginning to sit upright on his own. Here he gets a little support from his Boppy.

Since one of the milestones we are told to look for is Matthew putting his foot in his mouth, Terri likes to show him how to do it. Did that come out wrong?

Grandma Sue flew into town this weekend. On Saturday we put up our Christmas tree and decorated the house. Grandma Sue held Matthew close all weekend. She fed him, gave him a breathing treatment, talked & sang to him, and was an effective observer as I changed the diapers. Being a Grandparent has its' privileges.

Matthew was pearched like a "King" on a nearby table as we decorated the tree. Daniel, his cousin, was so thoughtful. He made sure to show Matthew every Christmas ornament as it came out of the box.
