One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

I can see meal time is over and he is back to playing and being his real self. I often wonder if Matthew just doesn't want to take the time to sit down and eat. He is a busy little boy, you understand.
He looks like he has a full set of teeth and they are so white. His drooling keeps his chin chapped as well. He is still the happiest little little boy I've ever known. Love you my precious little playmate. grandma w
Oh look at the sweet little cuppie cake face!!!
When my son was Matthew's age, he had the same drool thing going on! I was always afraid that he was getting dehydrated because he drooled so much. A bib was always part of his attire. He is 16 now, and finally stopped drooling (except I guess when he sees a pretty girl!) Matthew looks so good, I am happy that he is doing so well.
