One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Hi Matthew (Mom and Dad too!),
We're glad you had a safe ride here with all of this unusual weather we're having. Our thought's and prayers are with you every day. We continue to check your blog daily so we can see your sweet smiling face. Our youngest son Matthew 3 1/2 already knows when he see's you on the pc screen that you are Matthew too, Baby Matthew he says. We wish you the best as you will be in the best of care with Dr. Hanley and his wonderful team. This we have learned through our experience having Dr. Hanley repair our middle son Michael's heart!
Take care, Steve, Shari, Brandon, Michael (ToF, Pacer, PS) and Matthew
"Hold on a moment Dad, I have to break away for another picture of my adorable face."
Take care you darling boy. We all love you so much.
Grandma Sue
