I received an E-mail today from our friend Robert Dicks, the Media Relations Manager at Stanford's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital where Matthew had his surgery. He forwarded the latest new release on Dr. Hanley (shown above with the halo). This article discusses the exact surgery Matthew underwent. As I read it I had to laugh because Matthew is the most rare of the cases he describes. Click here to read the article.

It's a miracle for sure. Thank God Matthew was born at a time when this surgery was possible.
WOW... WHAT A GREAT NEWS RELEASE!
After reading that.. sure makes me realize how lucky we are that Matthew is still here and how lucky we are that we have Dr. Hanley! What a complex heart defect...
Go figure... one out of 100,000 babies...
