One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

You can see that Matthew is having the time of his life outside with his buddy, Quixa. Both enjoy the outdoors and Quixa has her toy, so she appears to want Matthew to chase her.
One of these days, Matthew will be riding Quixa around the back yard. Quixa is wonderful with this little boy and knows when to split when the going get rough.
I can never get enough of seeing pictures of Matthew. Love you my little yard bird, grandma wright
What a wonderful playmate Quixa is and so patient with his little buddy. It seems like Matthew loves all the animals. They all seem to be so good with him. A boy and his dog and wonderful times. I love all the pictures so much and I'm getting to follow along with his life as he grows up quickly before our eyes. I hope to have many years ahead to spend time with you and watch you as you play.
I love you Matthew.
