One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

We really don't beat him ... :-)
he has a couple bumps and bruises from his wobbly walking!
He's just learning new things every day. He wouldn't be the active boy he is without a few bumps and bruises.
He is so cute. I just love him.

While visiting grandma wright's house yesterday, Matthew "insisted" on conquering the one step down into the living room. He was so proud of himself when he walked up to the edge and stepped down; thus, forcing him into a run until he reach a wall to stop his momentum. It was his private "runway" across the living room. He was not satisfied with this major success forward, so he attempted to "back off" the step........
It took 3 of us to chase him around the big house; but he did manage to make a failed attempt backwards......ending in a whoops. He fell on a highly padded Karistan carpet and laughed when he landed....
Needless-to-say, Matthew is not faint of heart and all boy. He keeps grandma and mommy on their toes. I keep the stairs blocked; but he spends a lot of time sizing up the situation for an alternate route to the forbidden upstairs... You would think having a big house to roam would be satisfying enough for him; but he loves those challenges.
It was in the 40's yesterday and he was not happy that he could not get out on that grass..... Thank heavens God created "windows".
That's for another day and marathon run for grandma. Ha Ha Love you my little "exercise machine"..... grandma wright
That is so cute, I love all the pics you guys post. Jacob has been yankinghis socks off forever now, and then the other day I saw him walking with socks on. I was amazed, but they looked kinda funny. So, I took a closer look, and found that he had put one of my socks on and it was pulled up to his thigh! :) It was hillarious.
Oh, and with 4 kids, bruises are just the nature of things, some always has bruises as some point, especially with all the "loving" Jacob gets from his well meaning sisters. :)
