One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

It's difficult for a busy little boy to find time for a good pedicure!
As I previously said, Matthew enjoys everything in his presence. This includes upclose and personal as well. This was probably "the most" attainable toy at the moment. Look at that powerful grip on the leg with "both" hands no less. That foot is not going to get away any time soon. If any of us tried that position we would be put in traction for a few days in order to straighten out. Wheww....too much pain & trouble.Don't try this at home. Ha Ha Love you sweet baby, grandma w

Hey, I can't even put my foot in my mouth when I'm not tied in to a car seat (no comments please). He is amazing. You've got to have something to do when you're just driving around. He will have a great time looking at all these pictures when he grows up.
I love you. Grandma Sue
