One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future.
To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.
It is so good to see him getting some sleep finally, even if it is only for a little while. It's so awful to see what steroids do. I hope he can get off that medication soon and be well for good. He certainly has had his share of hospitals.
Sleep is a God Send for Magoo. So far the steroids have not had an adverse effect on him (which is unusual). I am so thankful he is right there in Summerlin Hospital where he is getting beyond "excellent" care. What a special little boy who is so tolerant of all the tubes and IV. He is a very sick little boy.
