One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Avoiding the Paparazzi
Even though we were hundreds of miles from home, that didn't stop the paparazzi from hounding our little "Goo-Man". The use of his movie star glasses did not fool the photographers. As good natured as he is, you can tell that Matthew holds some resentment for all the attention.
I thought this was a Brad Pitt look alike at first. Matthew has it all; but the scruffy beard.... Ha Ha.
ReplyDeleteMommy's sunglasses are always a big hit with the Goo-Man. Until he learns the value of money, he will always go for the glasses when her purse is open. Of course that will change in about another year when he is older and wiser. Hummmmmm
Matthew was in California with his Auntie Lorie and Grandma Sue, so he WAS a celebrity of sorts. I know they miss him terribly. I know "I did"! grandma wright
You guys, these pictures are just adorable. He definitely looks Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteMy niece just delivered her first baby on September 11, 2007. They found out today that he has a murmur and are doing tests and waiting for the cardiologist to look at the results. So far I have not heard anything from them. I'm worried.
ReplyDeleteHow terrible when tiny babies have to go through these things. What a nice idea starting a blog.
My best wishes and prayers to you all.
He was so funny with the glasses. He had us all laughing. Michael captured all the right pictures. We did some fun things while they were here and it was such a joy to be able to spend so much time with all of them. I can understand why Grandma Wright missed him while he was away. I miss him so much already. He truly brings joy to all of us. We look forward to many years of fun and happiness with our little Matthew.
ReplyDeleteIf they had come a few weeks later, they would have been here for the King Family reunion later this month. Uncle Doug, Auntie Adrienne and all the other aunts, uncles and cousins have followed the blog since it began. They can't wait to be able to see Michael, Terri and Matthew. Maybe they will just have to have the next reunion in Las Vegas.
Love to all of you. Grandma Sue
