One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

The Tissue
Terri captured these pictures of Matthew walking around the house holding this tissue to his face. I'm sure he has seen us blowing our noses and felt it only proper to be prepared. He looks like he has just watched an emotional climax to some romantic movie (I often wonder what goes on around here while I'm gone).
He is sooo dang funny w/that tissue...
ReplyDeletehe would ever so gently tap his little nose...
Godfrey he's cute!
Matthew had mommy and I rolling on the floor with laughter. He did not learn to "gently tap" the nose from me. He would carry that tissue around, sit it down and then go back to it. As he walked around he would gently tap his nose. Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteMatthew mimics everything his parents do. He is good therapy for a sad soul. You can't help but laugh at his antics. He is very serious about what he does. The other day he wanted to play tug of war with Quixa who is four times his size. Matthew looked like David in front of Golith (Quixa) as he held the huge rope for her to take hold of and pull. Quixa appreciated her little masters attempt to play with her; but sensed it would not have been much of a match. You can't blame a guy for trying.......
Love you my little hero, grandma wright
