One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Have you ever been this tired?
They say, "Play is the work of a child." Well Matthew is no slouch! While Terri and I were excercising in the back yard last week, Matthew was playing hard. In fact, he plum wore himself out. I think I looked like this behind the wheel a time or two when I worked graveyard.
We just wore him out by watching us get all powerful on the Bowflex!! Hee Hee!!

ReplyDeleteHe is so so so darling. What precious photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute pictures, and the frame and sparkles - oh my! It is so wonderful that you are able to capture so many different parts of his day and share them all with us.
ReplyDeleteHe is so adorable and loved so much by so many.
Love, Grandma Sue
oh. He is gobblicious. !!! What a doll.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures give new meaning to "crashing" while cruising. The weather has just been perfect for him to play outside with his parents. I watched them exercise the other day, and it made me tired as well. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteMatthew was pushing a toy around acting like it was the lawnmower. He walked up to the big gates and messed with the padlock and moved the anchor bar back and forth (with confidence) as it to open the gates like his daddy does. He watches every move his daddy makes and replicates the steps in that order. What a guy!
Look at those legs all stretched out. I can remember when they hardly touched the ground. Sleep tight, my hard playing little hero. grandma loves you! grandma wright
