One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future.
To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Play'in in the Yard
The weather was so nice on Monday that we all ventured outside to play in the backyard.
Is this the same little boy who was tied down with tubes, canulas and kept on his back for almost a year because of medical needs?
You certainly couldn't prove it by these pictures of a little boy so in tune with "Mother Nature". Matthew loves the outdoors, the same as his daddy and mommy. It is wonderful to see that he has broadened his horizons to the backyard and fresh air. Quixa seems to be thrilled to share "her space" with Matthew.
Mommy and daddy filled in a beautiful pond with fish in this same backyard, while Matthew was getting well, in preparation for these moments.
Daddy planted a Sycamore tree in Matthew's honor when Matthew was born. It will be fun to watch them both grow.
Thank you for sharing these fun filled, happy moments. Watching Matthew's adventure certainly warms my heart. Love you sweet little mountain man.....grandma wright
