One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

ReplyDeleteand the one of Matthew in the hospital bed with Mike holding his hand WAS A BIG DAY for us! He had just been exctubated from the ventilator for the first time in over two months .... (he had failed extubation a few times before that).
Love the pic of Dr. Frank Hanley @ Stanford ... that was just minutes before his first 9 hour surgery called a "Unifocalization".
Of course... love those Beaver, Utah pictures...

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love this song. When it first came out, Auntie Donella and I both bought it (that is the first version awhile back). I love how Michael adds just the right picture to go with every part of the song. Great work Michael and congratulations on yet another accomplishment.

There is an aura of "love" around Matthew, and this is a perfect tribute to our little hero.
