One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future.
To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Mommy came to Matthew's rescue. She silenced his cries by reading to him from his favorite book, "Your My Little Love Bug."
Matthew does love this book that has little lights blinking as mommy reads the story. Matthew loves to be read to. I think daddy got him started really early in life to appreciate books and stories. What a precious picture. Love all of you! grandma w
Mommy's always there to soothe her little man and wipe away the tears. A good book seems to do the trick. And, look how adorable he looks.
