One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future.
To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

I stopped by yesterday to see Matthew, Terri, and Mikey, as Matthew was attempting to do this same thing (fall asleep looking so darn peaceful). He looks soooo much better, the improvements are amazing. I am so happy there are Dr's, nurses, and technology that can literally "mend a broken heart". Matthew looks exceptional, great color, and is way to darn cute for words. You are very blessed to have him, and he is very blessed to have you as parents, family, and friends.
Cheryl, Ali, and I are very happy he is doing as good as he is, and excited for you all that you get to go home soon. I am also very sad that we loose you again back to Vegas (it's been so great to have you close by again!), but am sure you have family and friends that can't wait to have you back.
