One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future.
To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Vibrating Chest Vest
Dr. Nakamura prescribed this vibrating chest vest for little Magoo to help loosen up the junk in his lungs. Here he is sporting the latest fashion in pulmonary wellness while receiving his breathing treatment.
Well Terri was doing a great job on the chest compressions at home, but this is really something. He is so good about having his treatments and hopefully he will be home soon.
He actually hates this vest. It's a lot more vibration than we thought it would be. It fills up with air and has little baffels in it that really move. The entire bed vibrates.
Rather cool blog you've got here. Thanks for it. I like such topics and anything that is connected to this matter. I would like to read a bit more on that blog soon.
Matthew LOVES chest compressions...so I bet he's really loving the vibrating vest...
ReplyDeletehe is funny... He loves getting his little "puffer" treatments too...

ReplyDeleteHe probably would laugh if he wasn't so sick. He stays right there in bed and doesn't even try to get out of bed. A sure sign of not feeling good.
ReplyDeleteThis is more than vibrating... LOL...
ReplyDeleteit's like a bucking bronco vest...
bounces him all over the bed...
