One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future.
To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Matthew's art work *giggling*
I couldn't help but giggle at this, of course Matthew didn't see me or hear me, I was very firm with him that he wasn't allowed to color on our walls.
Been there done that (or still doing that occasionally). Ali's done crayon (Mr. Clean Magic Eraser worked well), she's then followed up with sidewalk chalk on the walls, but before all that took place it was a Red Sharpie on our Sofa (and I found something that even took that out somewhat well).
We were in LPCH for Alyson's cath operation today (it went very well) and guess what we found in the promotional photos displayed there. It's you: Terri and Matthew! :-)
Well the pictures are all wonderful from big brother Casey reading with him, Marci's beautiful daughters (when did they grow up?), your friend and her beautiful children, the baseball cap pictures (when did he get so tall?) and yes the artwork on the wall. I think everyone has done that, right? Great pictures.
Now Matthew is really talking. He has found a new way to express himself. You "must" thank Auntie Kimmy for the chalk. ha ha
ReplyDelete:) It is a lovely color, though!
ReplyDeleteLOL Mom, that is CRAYON!
ReplyDeletebut it is erasable... thank Godfrey.
If you guys notice...
ReplyDeleteyou can see his little hand coloring while I'm taking a pic.
Bottom pic!
Oh, how I love it!!
