One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Hey Mr. Tambourine Man!
Ok...I know these are cymbals and the caption should read, "Hey, Mr. cymbaleer". But you get the reference, right? When Grandma & Grandpa Wright aren't with us in Beaver we struggle for things to entertain Matthew with. Here I took the lids off of two pots and let him clang, crash, and bang to his unifocalized heart's content! As you can see by the last picture, it was a huge success.
I can see the previous evenings "jamboree" was inspiring to our little music lover. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteCymbals were a natural choice for this little 2 year old. Those were perfect lids for getting the most "bang" for your buck.
Grandma & Grandpa Wright missed Matthew too, this trip. Matthew makes our days and weekends in Beaver so enjoyable. Matthew actually seeks out his grandpa to hold him during naptime. I can see from one of the pictures, Matthew missed his grandpa as well, this trip.
The only consolation I can give mommy right now is, "at least she knew where her was" while banging the cymbals. Smart move, mom!
Looks like we missed a fun trip, sorry!!!! grandma wright
Great toys... I only have one stock pot lid, so I can't try that out with Liam... Dang it! What fun!
ReplyDeleteWell now he plays cymbals and drums so we know he has musical talent too. He seems to be having a great time making noise. Just a typical 2 year old. What a wonderful time you always have in Beaver. It's so great that you have that get-away from the hectic pace in Las Vegas.
ReplyDeleteI love you all and miss you so much. Grandma Sue
Hey Guys,
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how we can come up with the most unthinkable ideas to entertain. Looks like this was a hit..Good thinking...
Hope all is well...Sorry to hear the medicaid bill didn't pass. I know how passionate you both felt about this as well as put so much time and effort into this. Hopefully something good will come out of this. DON'T GIVE UP!!!!
