One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future.
To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Our neighbor Marianna stopped by to wish us a Merry Christmas. She also brought us a plate of cookies that put mine to shame.
Marianna not only brings us the best cookies ever... all year... but she cooks dinner for us ALL THE TIME!! Some of the best home cooked meals since I was a kid living at home. We love Marianna.... I went to school her daughter Lisa... since Gibson Jr. High!!
With lasting friends such as Lisa and Marianna, they are considered part of the family. Marianna and I have watch both the girls grow up into wonderful mothers and women. This picture is a keeper. Here is a kind, modest, gentle woman with a big, loving and giving heart. Merry Christmas and "thank you" for being so kind and loving to my family. Love grandma w
