One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future. To appreciate the absolute miracle of this "3 plus million dollar boy", you'd need to look into the "Archives" beginning after his first 9 hr open heart surgery at Stanford, August 2005.

Good News! Dr. Dezenberg was very pleased with Matthew's appetite and weight gain (he weighed in at 18lbs. 8 ounces). He recommended that we take Matthew off of the appetite stimulant for a week then restart it for 3 weeks. Otherwise the effect wears off.

Oh what a darling picture this is. We really need to have a portrait made of this (and probably 100 others). I'm so pleased that the doctor is happy with his progress.

He looks wonderful and happy and it does my heart good just to look at him. I love you baby Matthew.
