One boy's long road to recovery. Matthew was born two months premature with a rare fourfold heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCA's, and Ventricular Septal Defect. He's had two open heart surgeries and will need additional heart surgeries in the future.

Grandma Sue came to visit and stayed all afternoon. She got to hold Matthew, rock him to sleep, and sing nursery rhymes to him.
When Matthew opened his eyes and saw that it wasn't his Mommy holding him, he gave me that signature frown and then opened his eyes really wide and gave me the once over. I thought for a minute he was going to cry, but instead he realized I wasn't going to poke him with anything and I didn't have purple gloves, so he went back to sleep. He is just the cutest!
