This is the front of Lucille Packard Children's Hospital. This long narrow walk way can be the most oppresive & lonely trail to the parents of a sick child. Everyday last summer as we would walk towards the entrance, Terri and I would steel ourselves in preparation for the news that usually awaited us behind those doors. This morning I asked myself, "are the storm clouds above a foreshadowing of the day to come? Will Matthew be extubated today?"

So glad to hear that Matthew made it sucessfully thru his surgery, and thank you Dad for keeping up the blog. I know it is a tough and trying time for you and your wife, try to relax and get some rest yourselves. I have been praying for you and your family, and hoping for a speedy recovery for Matthew.
